My daughter is spending a holiday of her
dreams visiting her friend who lives in California. For a good three weeks, she
will be enjoying the scenery of this beautiful state. Not to mention the good
company and the shores of the Pacific Ocean. She has been a bit of a mermaid
at least from the age of four.
While she is away, we are hosting her Maine
Coon cats. This is their first visit to our new home. They have settled in
quite nicely thanks to the thick and soundproof structure of the 1920s
building.
In our previous home, the living room was
off-limits to the large-sized Maine Coons because of a number of fragile objects, the
rather expensive home theatre system and the piano.
Now we are trying to declutter to be able to keep all the spaces open and immediately one of Tidy Tiger’s
favourite places to drowse on is the piano fallboard. Sheena prefers the safety of
the extra bed in the adjacent second living room where we have the TV.
The only thing the cats are having trouble
getting used to is the sound of the apartment door. And visitors, of course,
but that can never be avoided with these shy beauties.
First photo by my daughter.
I'm glad your beautiful visitors are settling down in their new surroundings. It must be a bit strange having cats in your new home! I hope your daughter has a wonderful time! Sarah x
ReplyDeleteThey were a bit puzzled at first when they could see down to the street - luckily the windowsills are rather broad. My daughter (your namesake by the way although spelled differently) lives on the 9th floor but the view from her balcony is mostly green. She is certainly having a great time with her 'one and only' from childhood.
DeleteThey look as though they are making themselves very at home!!! xx
ReplyDeleteThey are very used to us and all our things so the change of 'scenery' is actually going better than we expected.
