Landscapes in yellow

Turnip rape (Brassica rapa) (rypsi) and rapeseed (Brassica napus) (rapsi) are practically the only colourful crops grown in the Nordic countries. Therefore it is no wonder I love the country landscape best this time of the year when they are in full blossom and the scenery is patched with heavy veils of yellow.

This summer, the brilliance has not been as great as it could have been due to the cloudy weather. The clouds keep travelling with such a speed that you need to be watchful to catch a glimpse of sunshine every now and then. However, we have been lucky enough to witness a few passing moments of dazzle, often accompanied by some swift drama in the sky.
